Fingernail clipping too short!

My husband did with our 1st he cried and bleed for a bit but he was fine.

Yes, I’ve done it a few times.

Not yet, but it could happen so easily. It's such a nerve wracking job! I only do it when they're sleeping now.

I clipped my first child’s nails when he was sleeping and I’m not sure if that backfired because he’s 4 now and cries like he’s in pain when I clip his toenails. So I put the tv on and clip baby’s nails. The tv keeps him sitting still.

This happened to my current baby when my husband clipped her nails in the hospital! He felt awful (and the nurse gave him a hard time for it, which didn’t help). I was always afraid to do it so he clipped both my older kids’ nails and he’s often the one that does theirs now. (He would often do it while they were nursing.) I’ve gotten more brave and I’ve been trimming my baby’s nails this time around.

I’ve never clipped them to short but with my oldest he had pudgy fingers and I was about ready to clip one and he moved ever so slightly and the clippers went over the tip of his finger and I didn’t notice until I pinched them shut and he screamed at the top of his lungs! I looked closer and it was all skin on the tip of his finger I had gotten ??‍♀️ I cried for days!!

I have ?‍♀️ when my daughter was about 5 months. it bled so much I cried for ages (so did she!) but no lasting effects. I think Niall cutting is one of the hardest parts about having a baby!

I’ve done it a lot she moves her hands a lot tho and it’s hard I’ve found bath time or just after is easiest for me I feel bad she cries and it bleeds but she’s over in Worthing a minute

Oh. We have done that multiple times (4 kids!) and felt terribly after it. My husband also is the official nail clipper :).

Now it’s totally fine. We sit our daughter inside the sink and she happily lets herself like if she is having the best manicure ever. She looks in the mirror and we give her something to entertain her other hand.
