Needed help
So my SO is a paramedic and has been working a lot this past couple weeks. His schedule is usually 24 on 48 off, but this past week he's basically been home for a couple days. When he comes home I have to let him sleep. His schedule will be like this until the beginning of Sept.

I understand you 100% my husband is a 911 dispatcher and he works 16 hr shifts. Four days on 2 days off and he works nights. He gets forced a lot so he is never home and when he is, he is sleeping. I have three kiddos now with basically no help. It doesn't help that my one year old is attached to my hip and 80% of the time they cry at the same time. It gets better! I promise.

And remember it doesn't hurt to ask for help! If you have it take advantage of it. I would die for it! Don't feel like you can't do it. You need your rest too.

It takes a village! Don't feel bad at all. Everyone needs help at some point, even if it's just a little. I would be lost without my husband. Do what you need to do - you're better for it! Plus I'm sure your MIL would love some extra cuddle time with the grandbaby!

My husbands a ff/emt at our counties busiest station; 24/72. When he comes home he needs his sleep too and he also needs a good nights rest before work. I immediately sought help from my mother his first shift back at work. There's no shame! However, I had to learn how to do it by myself too!

There's nothing wrong with asking for help! These first few months are so hard with sleep deprivation and just figuring everything out!!!

Yep. I almost called one of co workers who is like a second mom to me. My mom has been helping out for at least a couple hours just about everyday when my husband is at work which has helped tremendously with my toddler. She'll play with him while I'm taking care of the baby. This morning, the baby didn't want to go down for a nap and would let me put her down awake so my toddler was pretty much on his own other than me talking to him across the room. By 10, he was throwing a fit over everything. Probably because no one was able to pay attention to him and lunchtime was just a nightmare. If the baby didn't stay asleep at that point, I was going to call her. I needed a metal break. It's exhausting. No shame. Every mother needs help here and there. You're not alone

When my husband is away on a business trip, I basically move in with the in laws! No shame. We're not expected to do this alone.

There is never anything wrong with asking for help. Also remember you can baby wear and baby might calm that way giving you free hands. And it's ok for baby to cry for a little if an older sibling needs help. At the end of the day the older sibling will remember he/she had to fend for themselves because of the baby but baby won't remember he/she had to cry for 5 min so you could tend to a sibling. You start to get long term memory around 3. That being said it's a lot easier said then done when baby is screaming in your ear.
