Honestly I wore a bra with a sports bra on top and liners in my bra. It took almost 2.5 weeks to dry up all the way but the pain lasted only for about 5. I limited my showers during those 5 days so I didn't have to take the bra off (the when it hurt the most).

Cabbage leaves. Ice. Warm water (like the shower) will promote milk production, so avoid that. Also decrease nipple stimulation.

Frozen cabbage leaves! I wore my maternity support belt as tight as I could get it around my chest, sports bra, ice and Benadryl. Mine came in at 4 days and the pain was starting to get better at about 10 days

Also limit your showers as pp said and do not try to express any milk or pump as much as you may want to!

Cabbage leaves are amazing. Keep the cabbage in the fridge and the cool leaves will help with some of the discomfort. The leaves are nice and thick so they prevent stimulation which helps stop the milk production. Definitely avoid the warm water in the bath and shower and do not express any if you don't absolutely have to. Whatever runs out on it's own say in the shower for example is fair game just don't stimulate or heat the ladies as much as you can! With my first when I needed to stop I didn't take any medicines or anything just did cabbage. When it wilts put new fresh cold leaves in. It took nearly two weeks for my ladies to soften up but the pain didn't last quite that long. I quit at 5 months pp and when I gave birth the second time at 13 months pp I had still up until that point been able to hand express a little so didn't totally dry up but wasn't actively producing enough to feed or anything. Good luck ladies! It's tough times for sure but it will get better I promise! It won't always hurt when you so much as look at them. If you're using cabbage enjoy smelling like cabbage and make sure you at least have a giggle when you peel off the leaves to see you have imprinted ladies looking like two heads of cabbage in your bra!!

What above ladies said. Also try Mucinex, it is amazing at drying the ladies up. And if they are painful, try freezing the cabbage leaves! It feels wonderful
