Seafood is well known for having a lot of mercury which is bad in pregnancy. Myself I love seafood so I asked my doctor what I can eat and she said I can eat shrimp and cooked lobster meat but, it has to be cooked and you can't eat it a lot like it can't be an everyday thing it has to be eaten moderate.

I was told a bit of seafood is okay, no canned tuna or fish from the lakes, I live in Michigan and most of our fish comes from the Great Lakes, and they can have a lot of mercury in them. So it might also depend on where you live.

Okay thanks Bc my uncle cooked some pasta today and it had shrimp in it and I wasn't for sure if I could eat it or not

Your doctor should have told you that, or given you paperwork that stated everything you can and cannot have? Food & medication.. At least my doctor did that.

I ate seafood mainly pan fried salmon and my daughter is 2 months now and perfectly fine
Kelli·
She didn't give me a paper about that . My first appointment I just had a transvaginal ultrasound, heard heart beat. Told me not to eat any greasy food or fast food and she told me to come back in a week

Its fine in the uk but no more than 2 portions of oily fish a week, no marlin, shark or swordfish and max 4 tins tuna per week. No RAW shellfish. Fish used in sushi must be frozen first.

I ate seafood in the beginning and it made me super sick. I guess it was because of the crawfish I was eating. I only eat fried shrimp now.

my doctor said all shrimp, crab, etc was fine and basically all fish was fine as long as i don't eat it everyday. canned tuna was fine, she said stay away from like swordfish.

Doc told me seafood was perfectly fine, as long as it was cooked properly. No raw anything.
Edit: Fast food is fine, too. We ate out all the time, and DD is healthy as a horse. Just remember moderation.

I pretty much live off sea food ? we ocean fish and river fish for salmon ect. Just avoid a lot of tuna for the mercury and always cook it well like any meat (:

It's not ok to eat raw sea food. U should avoid everything that is known to have high mercury in it like Salmon, shrimp etc. you still shouldn't eat a lot of sea food to begin with especially if your taking prenatal vitamins which contains omega3 in it already.

My doctor told me the bigger the fish the more mercury so to stay away from shark, swordfish and things like that. Other than that to stay around 12oz of seafood per week

You can eat seafood, just shouldn't over do it and shouldn't eat raw fish.

Thank you ladies sooo much!! Really appreciate each one of your comments ! One more question though ... so canned salmon is okay right ? If I fry it ?
