Help! This is my 3 day old newborn. He only falls asleep like this, and I know it's a bit too much…

Just give it time he will still be getting used to being on the outside world it's all new to him as much as it is u ..... Baby's take a while to get into a regular sleeping pattern and it's so hard to rest as u r scared to stop looking at them but u will settle down and start feeling normal again and have a wee sleep when baby is sleeping ... Put the baby in a swing to sleep the big crib feels so big and lonely for him try a swing or the Rock and play !

Cosleeping actually helps reduce the chance of sids if done properly. But if it's really worrying you, I put my dd to sleep in a rock n play and covered her feet with a light blanket. It had her propped up and looked snuggly, and obviously she liked it because she slept great in it for months. She'll even nap in it now sometimes at 15mo lol. Personally I wouldn't worry about him having a blanket. He's small enough that he won't be moving around much so it's not much of a suffocation risk.

@Kd, he's scared of the swing and it's still not securing enough for him to sleep even when its off. Don't have a rock n play.

It's basically the same as sleeping in a crib. The way I used to do it was I'd have my dd lay on my pillow against my face, with my arm around her. Also when I was bf I'd sometimes just pass out with her in my arm attached to my boob. I wouldn't move at all when she slept with me so I woke up really uncomfortable sometimes lol.

Yeah i've been passing out with him after he detaches from the boob and we'd just lay together. He Loves side sleeping- its how he was in the womb ?

Co sleeping can be done safely. You can put baby's crib against your bed and secure it. Google sidecar crib.

I think your fine. Just put a warm Jammie on him and lay him in a bassinet and put the blanket on his lower half and let him sleep. I did that with mine and pulled the bed up next to my bed and slept

There is bassinets ( baby delight snuggle nest surround $45 Amazon) for big beds, co sleeping but baby in its own bassinet . And you don't need a pillow there is bottom made as raised pillow . I could use that bassinet for one month . I stay close to my baby that I could hear his breath and I slept too;) and I covered him half way till waist .

It's like I'm reading about my baby boy lol he's 1 month old and had his days and nights switched too so that was even worse.. He loves laying on my chest and he has to fall asleep like that or he will cry if I just lay him down anywhere.. He hates the swing right now too, I have 2 different ones and he's just not into it yet.. If you do have a bassinet or I put him in the little bassinet part of my pack n play, try and do that.. I lightly swaddle mine on his bottom half and half a receiving blanket underneath his whole body. It's taken time, but if u keep working on it everyday it'll get better. Every night usually after his 3 am feeding., he refuses to sleep anywhere besides next to me or on my chest.. I suggest how someone said on the pillow laying next to yr head with yr arm around him. I'm secured like that with him and it works. Good luck!

Be glad he can sleep like that and dont have to be in something that has an angle to it my daughters have had acid reflux so bad that they cant lay flat on thier backs we have to have them proped up i did the same thing you are doing watching her all night
