Here’s what I did for my first, and I’m mostly going to repeat for baby #2.

I have the Dekor Classic diaper pail. I got it because of the hands free feature and the look. For the first 6 months dd was in my room and we kept the pail in my bathroom. Dd was EBB, so diapers did not smell, but there were a lot and the pail could hold a lot-big plus. Once dd started on solids, that changed the diaper game and smell. First we only used the pail for pee diapers and took #2 diapers outside. We eventually moved our diaper pail to the garage which was right off the kitchen and would toss #2s there and pee diapers would just go in the regular trash. Hope this helps

I use a diaper genie for my daughter and love it. She just turned two and we still use it. We keep it in her room and empty it once a week. It doesn’t smell, but I also refill the charcoal odor thing that’s in it. If I don’t, it starts to smell a little.

I like the Diaper Dekor! It's cute and it works great. It's not too expensive at all and the refills last forever. Plus after it's no longer needed for diapers it can be used as a regular trash can. A regular trash bag can fit in it just fine.

I've never been a fan of the Diaper Genie. It's too confusing for me.

My one issue with the diaper genie (I have two) is that the stink really sticks to the plastic... I mean baaaaaaaad. That smell makes me gag every time I open it. Fresh bag and all.

Considering getting a metal diaper pail...... or just replacing my genies altogether.

Didn’t buy or use one with my DD or DS and won’t this time either. I personally think diaper genies are a waste of money and any one I know who had or used one you could always smell the stinky diapers. I have a separate garbage can in our attached garage that diapers go in and we empty that at least weekly, more frequently when LO is younger. However, we live in a one story house with a finished basement so it wasn’t an issue walking to the garage to dispose of diapers.

I love my genie both my kids have them it helps keep the stank at bay.

I just used a small $1 trash can and trash bags from dollar tree and we emptied it out every day or every other day depending on how many diapers or if there was a bad poop.

Dollar tree also has single diaper trash bags for when you’re out and about.

I like my gene because it definitely holds the stinky smell concealed. But it does stink when you open it.. with being pregnant and I can smell everything so I have baby girl poop in the toilet lol

I had a diaper genie with my first baby and hated it. It just wasn't what worked for us. Between the bags and it smelling terrible, we chose to use a regular metal trash can and put the diapers in poo bags instead. We would take it out daily. However, I have plenty of friends who love it!

Yeah I’m considering just individually bagging the poopy ones and getting a regular can, too. I have changed my filters but when opened it smells like toxic waste!!! I’m way too lazy to hose that thing down and I don’t have easy access to the dumpster. The genie does hold the smell in when closed though.

Didn’t have for either 2 boys. Iike Others had separate small one for diapers or they would go in bathroom garbage. Never was an issue :) im all for saving money in where I can :)
