IVF Hi ladies,

We did 1 cycle with frozen donor eggs.all 6 fertilized, 4 made day 5. I did 3 total transfers (3rd time the charm and got my son) with one in the freezer.

Each transfer counts as 1 cycle? Is that correct?

It depends how you look at it. There was a big cost for the initial cycle but the transfers were substantially less than that. I count a cycle as the egg retrieval and IVF with all the embryos being part of same cycle.

Have you tried any other interventions for him yet? We were recommended IVF for my husbands sperm count but the urologist put him on clomid first and it worked. I felt certain we would end up having to do IVF because of what the fertility clinic told us but was pleasantly surprised when I found out they were wrong.

No we haven’t tried any other options.. I didn’t know men could take clomid!

My husband does have Vericocele and we were told that it is so severe that chances of surgery helping were slim.

We did ivf due to low sperm count. I only had 3 eggs make it to transfer. We transferred one and only had one to freeze, but lucky us the first one took. My miracle baby is a year old now, from a single egg fresh first transfer cycle.

IVF worked for me on first try!! Don't give up!

Thank you ladies for your responses. DH is now saying he wants to wait. He thinks he may possibly want to try surgery first.
