SAHM vs Working husband
So my husband doesn't seem to understand why I'm tired all the time and god forbid I mention that it was a rough day because our LO is teething it's been a rough past few days he gets at me and says I can't handle it, I'm crying for help and to me he makes it seems like I'm incompetent for voicing my opinion, granted he works a full time job and djs at late night on the weekend soooo I always get up in the middle of the night for feeding and up at 6am with her, I feel I do everything all the time I feel like a single parent, I give many kudos to any single parent! I guess I'm just venting and hoping for some feedback if anyone is in the same boat????

Similar boat, I guess. My husband is busy with his military career, and I'm a SAHM. I do 95% of everything at home, he brings home the paycheck. Honestly, that's just the way we agreed to do things (discussed before we tried for a baby), and it works for us. I make his life easier by keeping the household running smoothly and taking care of our daughter, and he can focus on his work and then come home to a peaceful home. But I can completely understand the shell shock if you were a career-oriented woman prior. It took me several months in, to actually love being home constantly, because I was highly independent and career-oriented before.
All that being said... He does interact with our daughter. He plays with her every night before bed, he cuddles with her. And on days off, he's more than willing to go along on a family adventure to the park, hiking, shopping, etc. It's important that your kids feel that their dad is present.
What would happen if you asked your husband for something specific? Ex: please go run a bath for the baby, etc? I've noticed that if I request something specific, my husband will do as I ask, whereas if I've just said "you could help out more", he doesn't quite get the vagueness. May be that your husband just needs a bit more direct request?

It's really not that hard to be a sahm.

Thanks to the first two ladies with your reply? . The reply above this I don't understand your reply when I was looking for support not criticism saying SAHM is really not that hard-we are here to support one another or is this the wrong app for that?

I have done both (SAHM and working while DH stayed home). Working a full time job is by FAR easier than being a SAHM. Being a SAHM was the hardest job i've ever done and I work as a Disability Support Worker for high needs/behavior clients. Sounds like your OH needs a bit of a reality check.

No need for you to be over dramatic over a comment.
Over time, it gets easier. I promise. It becomes almost second nature and you'll look back on this experience and pat yourself on the back.

Totally get you hun. I feel the same, my partner does help a bit but doesn't understand the pressures especially when I've got money worries on top of it and we don't share anything. Struggle daily in a flat with the stairs, he's a minimalist and I like my bits and bobs. All I can say is hope it improves for us in time!

I think every SAHM has probably experienced this in some way at some time. It was a very long, hard battle for me and my husband. He was convinced all I did was watch tv, get on Facebook, and nap all day. It was very frustrating to feel so under appreciated and belittled. He still doesn't understand the full extent of being a SAHM but now that I work full time he gets a little taste of it from time to time when he has to help around the house or change plans because of our son.
