freezer meals
Anyone stsated yet or plan to make meals ahead of delivery? I did when my ds2 was born and it was so convenient but they were all crockpot meals. Im looking for other options this time around. Anyone have good recipes? Ive found some on pinterest that i might try. Also when is everyone stsrting? Im only 33 weeks so i have time.
I'm 33 weeks and have started this week. I have completed half of what I initially planned to do. So far I've made oven meals: meatloaf, lasagna, pasta with sausage bake(new), zucchini pizza(new). Also planning for: chicken pot pie, enchiladas, cheesy chicken bake. I also just want to cook up some lbs. of ground beef and I want to put together crockpot recipes in big freezer bags.
This is my 3rd baby but first time I'll have freezer meals ready, and added bonus of my mom for a week or two. Hopefully it helps!
I finished mine last week. I made a lot of marinara sauce and vodka sauce to freeze in bags flat. Tons of frozen stufed shells. A pan of ziti, creamy pasta ans lasagna which will last 2 days each and about 30 breaded chicken cutlets. Also meatballs, just seasoned them as regular and rolled them and froze them til solid then packaged in bags. Thats all i can remember at the moment. Oh and i cooked chicken and diced it up in bags so i can add to like curry. Okay now i think thats it.. I do want to do a few crockpot meals in the bag and just dump them in. Oh and beans, cooked and frozen.
Coming back to add i made a chicken cutlet that i froze. And they came out great. Just baked it at 450 and it came out like it was never frozen. I baked it while frozen too, and it was uncooked. Such a great idea.
