i have always been told not to handle the litter box while pregnant. I would stop doing it if you can and I would call the doctor to mention it and let them instruct you on what to do.

I just called my ob and i will hear back on Monday. So I'm hoping my so will start cleaning the box out because they told me to stop cleaning it.

You're not supposed to clean the cat box. However, if you wash your hands or use gloves and cover your face, you should be ok. Especially if they're strictly inside cats. I would call and tell you OB.

I do use gloves and bought face masks to wear. And i wash my hands after. But i still called. I'll see what the dr says on Monday.

Techincially the job should go to someone else in the family, but indoor only cats aren't really at risk of toxoplasmosis unless it's on a raw meat diet? I wouldn't fret. I changed my cats litter when I was pregnant with my son. I just scooped several times a day and wore cheapie masks and gloves every time.

Mommy21: I had to do it some with my last too. I just did what charity said. Also, my cats were strictly inside. Now, the male sometimes goes out so I am not chancing it.

@moeschal my cat is strictly indoors only and i feed her dry food. I will just have to keep wearing gloves and. Mask. Because I'm the only one who will clean her litter box. Unfortunately. I will still see if i can go into the dr still. Really praying everything is fine.
