I had my cervix checked yesterday and I was closed no dilation, my midwife told me to start taking evening primrose oil twice a day , has anyone been checked and then the next day been really crampy like starts in your lower back and all the way around but have no contractions or bleeding ? Every time she moves I get awful cramps like the worst period cramps you'll ever get in your life ? Thanks.

Yes, anytime dr is poking around down there I was told to expect possible spotting and cramping

I was expecting spotting but that never happened just the cramping, I'm really disappointed I'm not dilating , is it possible to have been dilated then it reverse itself? It was my first check but I've been losing pieces of my plug so I thought for sure I'd be dilated at least to a 1 :/

Don't feel discouraged about not dilating. It doesn't mean anything. Some bodies (like mine) do all the work after labor begins. You could go from 0 cm to 10 cm in a few hours or it could take 20 hours for you to go from 3 cm to 10 cm.

I'm hoping taking the evening primrose oil will help and I plan on starting walks since I'm home all the time now, I told my mom my midwife wanted me to take them and she freaked out and started googling them and telling me "horror" stories about them and dissing my midwife because it's "hippie dippie"
