I wish there was a test before leaving hospital that said if mom is capable of snapping one day. I swear some parents just don't care. How sad. I look at my kids and think I am their world they look up to me.
I didn't read the article or know anything else about the story, but after having horrible post partum with my first I'm slower to jump on "how could she!" Wagon.
Untreated postpartum psychosis is very very serious and really needs a strong partner to help a mother to identify it and to help her get the proper treatment. I wonder how many mothers have killed their children because of having no one to help them mentally after birth.
I am very sensitive to psychosis situations. Unfortunately (maybe?) this doesn't seem like it is the case here. From what I'm reading, i understand that this was a calculated, premeditated, intentional attack.
This is also a 15 year old child. Her youngest I believe I read was 13? So we are not talking about a recent birth of even a couple years (sometimes postpartum psychosis can manifest later).
ETA: It is looking like the intention was to induce sepsis while his body was compromised by the cancer to kill him.
Yea something isn't right with this lady. Her husband passed away last year and both kids have cancer?? Not that u can give someone cancer but that's just very weird to me. She said she did it so he would get better care?!? Are I serious she almost killed him with the infections she caused. Now these poor children don't have a father or a mother so very sad!
This is starting to look like a very unfortunate family. 2 with cancer. One with a brain tumor (maybe also cancerous). The boy in question is autistic? Did I read that somewhere?
There is a lady my aunt knows of and my aunt swears up and down the lady has done something along these lines to make her children sick. All 3 of her children have a RARE disease that is not inherited from genes. There's a name for it when you intentionally make others sick but cannot think of the term.
@britt it's called munchausen by proxy. It's when parents make their children sick or appear to be sick so they get a lot of attention
ETA don't make fun of her ears my husband had large ears as a kid and was made fun of his entire childhood for his big ears. Also my children inherited his bigger ears too. It really bothered my husband how bullied he was because of his ears!!!
@britt it's sick and twisted the mother wants attention on herself so she will act as if her child is always sick. Or she will physically make them sick. It's so sad. It's a form of child abuse. My cousin got her daughter taken away from her for several months by CPS because her daughter was in the hospital and had a feeding tube. Well her tube came out several times and once they caught my cousin on camera pulling it out because it was coming out and making her gag. Want to add that my cousin was a pediatric nurse at the hospital

Her for a few months. She spend a few nights in foster care then her grandmother took care of her. Nothing ever came of it and she got her daughter back after a few months. It was a very sad situation and my cousin would never do anything to harm her child
I literally love big ears so much. Whenever I see a woman with ears like this that stick out I get sooo jealous. I think it accentuates their cheek bones and makes them look so elegant. Take the woman in this picture for example. Without those ears I would say there is really nothing special about her face. I love love love big ears.

It's one thing to physically make yourself sick for attention. But to do it to your children. I keep hoping that if my aunts theory is correct that doctors would have figured it out by now. Since all 3 kids have this insanely rare disease.
@britt it was a very sad time for the whole family. My cousin is a very loving mother she has 2 girls. Her 2nd daughter was born while all this was going on so they have no pictures of the two sisters together when she was a newborn.
If u physically make yourself sick it's just called munchausen disorder or disease. But same case they do it so they get attention. It's a type of mental disease I believe. Don't quote me on that but that's what I think
While I don't condone what this mother has done by any means, I will say she lives in my community and this is not the same woman she was a year ago. She WAS a special education teacher at the school corporation my children attend. She is a mother of 5 children. Yes her daughter had cancer before her husband passed of complications with a brain tumor, he passed shortly after an unsuccessful surgery. The child mentioned in this article has a form of autism, there is a younger son that has a more severe form. This woman has snapped, it is a very sad situation and I pray for her children as not only have they lost their father in May, they have lost their mother as well. And I do not mean physically lost her due to this situation, but the person she once was. That woman would have never done anything like this. Pray for these 5 children as my little community tries to pick up the pieces for them and give them some normalcy.
