Breastfeeding is a rollercoaster. Some are good days some are bad. Did you try rubbing some breast milk on your nipple and holding it over his nose? This is a good latch trick that has helped me before.

You're right in the first growth spurt.

Fussing at the breast, not latching, latching/unlatching, etc is how baby signals your body to up supply for the next stretch.

It's important to keep him at the breast during this time. As frustrating as it seems he & your body are communicating.

Zoey sometimes won't latch because my milk will come out too fast especially if my boobs are full! Maybe that is part of the issue? I actually will have to pump for a few minutes sometimes before feeding her.. otherwise she starts choking or won't eat. It's a little annoying but I'm not sure what else to do and it helps.

I know with my son he got lazy a lot. I didn't give in and give him a bottle hardly ever. Because I knew when he got hungry enough he would nurse. We sometimes would rock and nurse I would walk around with my boob near his mouth and him In football hold. while he was crying and fighting me, he would always latch eventually. With him it was about a battle of stubbornness. He is now 18 months and his personality is still the exact same. And it did get better there were still more moments like that but i nursed him until he was 11 months & got pregnant with this baby.

I have to use a nipple shield. It's the only thing that helps for the first few weeks.

We couldn't bottle feed DD at all, even as she got older & with paced feeding, she would get SO lazy at the breast for like the next day.
