During breastfeeding should be fine, esp if it's after your initial 6wk follow up appt. I agree, pregnancy makes a big difference in your vision, mine comes and goes with how clearly I can see things...and I'm in dire need of new glasses, I just don't want to spend the money now with the baby due in 12 days, and have to get new ones again afterwards

I was really tired of wearing warped glasses. I don't care how much I paid for those Lacoste frames. The FL sun melted them and it was time to cut my losses. ?

I got my vision checked while pregnant, but they did say it would be best to not get glasses till a few months after I gave birth so my vision would normalize. I'm glad they mentioned something.

@pp mine got better but only by .25.

I'm -.75 in both eyes now used to be -.75 in one and -1.00 in the other. I also have a bad astigmatism ?

My vision has gotten worse since being preg - esp night vision ?

My eye dr wouldn't dilate my eyes since I'm bf'ing, but everything else was fine.

I was getting headaches everyday and got my eyes checked. The only thing they didnt do was dilate them. It turns out I needed a much higher prescription contact then what I had. If I start getting headaches after the baby comes I will go back.

I have to make an appointment soon. I'm almost 5 months. My MFM said if I don't make myself one she's making me one lol I have type 1 diabetes so lots can go wrong with my eyes during pregnancy.

The hormones and stuff of pregnancy has a chance to affect your vision.

So if you get new glasses while pregnant and what not they may not be the right prescription for when your body goes back to normal.

Huh, i didn't know! I got my eyes checked a few months ago, luckily nothing had changed.

I got mine checked while pregnant, even got glasses. They warned me my vision could change, but my headaches were getting severe due to my eye sight.

I went to see about lasik and they said I couldn't until 6 months after stopping breastfeeding

At pp^^ it's because ur eyes change so much with all the extra hormones.

@op I think u can while bf but it's after 6 wks pp. once most of the hormones have settled down.

I worked for an optometrist and i have never heard you cant get your eyes check during pregnancy or bf. None of our machines did anything that would cause harm to your baby. So yer id say your fine but ask when you make an appointment. Just know your sight can change rapidly during and after a pregnancy. It can take some.time to settle down.
