I was wondering if there is a minimum age for baby wearing your baby on your back (in the carriers that look like backpacks, not with scarf like carriers).

I can't imagine a baby slipping through unless the carrier wasn't tightened to fit both mother and baby very well. As for an age, I'm not sure, I didn't back wear my DD until I had my second DD and wore them both at the same time.

If she was strapped on right, there's really no way she could've skipped through! Also, 5 months is really young for a back carry!

Some carriers are not made for back carries, front carries only. What kind does she have? Was it properly fitted? They aren't a one size fits all.
General rule is baby should be able to sit unassisted for a ssc. Wraps are different.

Thanks for all the answers! I don't know anything about carriers so I was really wondering. I thought it was young, but I wasn't sure. And I thought that there is no way my DD would have slipped through one of the leg holes of my front baby bjorn carrier, so I wondered about back carriers.I don't know what kind of carrier she has though.
