Switching 1st born's room or not?

Seems like a lot of work just to avoid taking the crib apart. What is it like 10 screws?

Plus dd may not appreciate that.

I'd leave her in her room that she has gotten used to. You don't want her to feel like the new baby is more important and she is being replaced.

I'm switching dd1. We have three bedrooms (ours, dd1 and a third.) dd1s current bedroom is in the back. The other bedroom is in the front with a huge east-facing window--not ideal for a newborn.

But to prevent dd1 from feeling like she's getting kicked out, we are making it exciting. I'm painting a huge tinkerbell mural on the walls, getting her a new "big girl" bed, etc. plus the front room has the bigger closet and stuff. So it's like a rite of passage rather than her little sister kicking her out or taking her place

We switch our kids out of our "nursery" room. We've introduced it as a moving up sort of event. They get to sleep in the big boy room (no girls here right now). Soon we will move our 1 yr old to his toddler bed that we have set up in the other bedroom with his 2 big brothers.

Yeah, it's really not that much work to switch the crib, I just hadn't given it much thought before DH said that it might be better to leave her in her room... The 2 rooms are pretty similar and right next to each other.
