Is the only difference between the 7 and 8 the screen size?  We are getting Bear one for his birthday but not sure which one to get x

Mine both also have the 7 inch normal kindle - I just set a kids profile up for him and bought a kiddie bumper case from eBay (£7). Worked out cheaper that way, plus the normal one has more memory than the kids one  Xx

My 4 year old has had the 7inch for a year now and is fine for him, we just got the normal kindle as it has the kids mode on it which is exactly the same. The ‘kids’one just comes with the case and the kids unlimited downloads etc
