I sterillised Harris bottles upto one then when he went on normal milk I stopped.

I was sterilising for as long as Theo was on formula, up to one year old. And he was having tap water from about 10 mths old

Your ment to sterilise while they are still on formula as the powder isn't sterile. And I think he can have tap water from 6 months. Xx

I sterilised till a year old until she started normal blue milk, and I started tap water at a year old xo

Harri is 10 months I still sterilise his bottles and dummies and will do until he's a year old and they can have tap water from 6 months x

Thankyou ladies!!! I thought it was till they get off formula! And awesome about water cuz each time I drink from my water bottle Bear wants it and I've let him a few times but wasn't sure if he was aloud or not xx

I just did them Once a week from around 6 months and gave her tap water from about 8 months xx

I melted the steriliser (forgot to put water in) when Bert was about 7m so stopped then.

I stopped sterilising bottles at 6 months ish but we did use the dishwasher so they still got a pretty good clean. Still use boiling hot water for the milk making though as the powder isn't sterile xx

I was told bottles need sterilising as long as he's having formula. Don't worry when he's on cows milk though.

Tap water is fine from 6 months and I never bothered sterilising water cups or bottles.

In theory bottles should be sterilised as long as they are using them. It's to sterilise anything left in the bottle, not to sterilise the formula powder (he powder is sterilised by making up with hot water). Milk and formula can go bad very quickly so they recommend sterilising bottles because there are places in the teats for example where it could get trapped and grow bacteria.

Lots of people stop before though so it's whatever you feel comfortable with!

Nasty bacteria grows in formula thats why you sterlise till they are of that . Tap water id do at 12 months xx
