sure start maternity grant

I've just sent off for mine also! But I've seen posts on here before about it and people have said it's taken around 2 weeks and I think they said the money went in before they received the letter xxx

I sent mine on the 18th and I got a text today saying they will send me the decision in the post in next 10 days..

Thanks ladies.. guess I'll just have to keep checking my bank and hope for the best lol.. I found a number earlier online when I was trying to figure out how long it takes so if I don't hear nothing in the next couple of weeks I'll ring them (: x

I always got a text within 5 days and then a letter roughly a week later with a decision, I had to apply for mine 3 times before I got it?, I finally got mine a few weeks ago! I received my decision letter first and got my payment the next day☺️ xx

I haven't even had a text come thru yet :s iduno whether to ring them or not x

Just thought I'd update.. just had a phone call from them to double check some of my details and she told me that are making a decision tomorrow morning then will send out a letter (: x

That was lucky! I'm guna ring up tomorrow afternoon and find out what the decision was cuz then I can plan stuff! And I'll just keep checking my banking app hoping for the best x

I sent my letter off, I got a text about 5/6 days after saying they would send me there decision within 10 days then I checked my bank about a week later and it was in there and got the letter the next day, they say not to ring but I rang and lied and said I hadn't heard nothing and they told me over the phone I had been accepted xx

Mummytograciemay - how come u had to apply 3 times before exceptance?

I'm still awaiting my outcome but hoping it will b by the end of this week..

I applied when I was still working as the woman one the phone when I was applying for my maternity allowance said I was entitled to it but they knocked it back cause i was working. I reapplied after my little girl was born but my tax credits took longer to set up than what I thought so it go knocked back again, I had to phone them up and get them to reassess it once I got my award letter in and I finally got it.

If any of use get knocked back you can reapply after your baby has been born as I know you've got to be receiving certain benefits to get it just make sure your tax credits have been set up, you are getting the higher rate of tax credits (if you are working) and you apply within 12 weeks of your little one being born xx

I'm signed off on ESA so I definitely qualify for it.. I'm just guna ring up later and try find out cuz when I rang yesterday they said I wasn't even on the system so I'll pretend I'm checking to make sure I'm on the system lol xx

Update... just rang up pretending to find out if I was on their system yet and got told I've qualified for it and will have the money on Monday!! More baby shopping here I come!!! Xx
