Tattoo while Pregnant? Please help.

I wouldn't worry, I believe they just say to avoid tattoos because you have a higher risk of infection because of your lowered immune system. Also the risks of dirty needles, etc.

The ink only goes into the first few layers of skin, and as long as you got it done at a reputable shop with brand new needles, babe should be perfectly fine!

I'm sure baby will be fine. I'd mention it to the doc and put the rest of your sleeve on hold until later :)

But I would personally wait to get it finished until after your LO is born :)

Don't worry! As long as you were at a reputable place and your artist was sanitary, there really isn't any cause for concern, unless the needles were dirty. They say not to get tattooed while pregnant to avoid the extremely small chance that you contract HIV or Hepatitis. Just don't schedule anymore appointments :) I had gotten a sleeve started awhile before I found out I was pregnant, so I'm also in the same boat as you with unfinished work! ☺️

Yes. It's infection which is worrisome. You should be fine too finish or do the last touch ups if not completed. Just not on your back in case of epidural, I don't think they'll do anything epidural if a fresh tattoo is there. And not on your belly because c-section and infection could be worse in that area with baby.

I woulnt do one on pregnant women risk of infection and even tho they say it dosnt cross the placenta there is little studies on that so personally I woulnt do it on a pregnant women or do it on my self for that matter but is say as long as u take proper care of it like they told you to then you should be fine

You'll definitely be fine, just wait to finish it until after baby is here/after breastfeeding(I know it sucks, I had an appointment to finish my arm two weeks before I found out I was pregnant so I had to cancel )

You should be fine, but wait until after baby and breast feeding (if thats your choice) before finishing up.

My sister got a tattoo with both her pregnancies and her babies are perfectly healthy although I don't recommend finishing it until after the baby is born.

Thank you ladies! And I think my body is rejecting it, its it's scabbing up really bad and is extremely painful. Definitely not finishing it until my baby is born! And I'm not worried about the shop it was a very clean place, and had nothing but good reviews when I was looking to get it done. Thank you so much for all your advice! :)

I done the exact same thing because I didn't know,and it was absolutely fine I checked with my doctor and they just recommended I kept it clean untilk it healed

No it's not my first tattoo. I haven't been picking at it or anything. And I've been using Aquafor, which is what my artist recommended. I've left it alone but it's just not healing like it's supposed to. It's scabbing way more than they normally do and it's super painful every time i move my arm. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant I'm not sure but I'm not touching it until after I've had my baby ☺
