Anyone have experience with a baby who has a VERY sensitive gag reflex? My daughter is 10 months old (born at 36 weeks at only 4 lb due to IUGR), started solids at 6 months and has no problem with 1st/2nd foods or thick oatmeal cereal. However, anything that has even a hint of texture to it she gags and pukes it up. I was eating a peach and let her taste the juice on my finger (she has had peaches before in baby food). I guess there was a teeny tiny bit of peach flesh on there bc she started gagging until I saw it come out in her drool. I attempted 3rd foods once and same story. She also gags if I even touch her tongue with a Gerber yogurt melt or veggie puff or baby cookie. I'd love to hear how others helped their little ones overcome this.
