Who has done one/ planning to do one? DH and I did one yesterday and I'm in love with the birthing rooms! They have a tub that's big enough for hubby and I to labor in. They also have the ball to bounce on and peanut pillow if I want to lay in bed and labor. I asked about their c-section percentage and it's only at 15%! The national average is around 38%. They are very laid back and let the mother follow their birth plan as long as momma and baby are healthy. They had a momma get induced Tuesday and she just had her baby Thursday..... I couldn't imagine laboring that long but I love how encouraging they are.

I'm using the same labor and delivery are used with our last baby and it is fabulous! Everything is done in the same room, my delivery and resting for a couple of days. And they're so great about not taking the babies out of the mamas rooms and doing everything there. I don't like when they take the babies out to wash or whatever. I'm like no I need to be around my child at all times in this hospital is very accommodating.

I didn't our hospital is about 45 mins to an hour away from our house. But my mom also drove us there and knew how to get there. Actually I'm kind of embarrassed to admit this but I never left the room our whole hospital stay either. Had no idea until discharge thag the nurses was right outside or room.

Only thing i wish mine had is bigger rooms. Their super tiny. I'm use to the postpartum room being smaller..but this hospital is kinda ridiculous. (Ive delivered at two other hospitals...neither local at this point)..
Other than that it's pretty nice.

This hospital does skin to skin with mom and dad for 4 hours then they do the weight and measurements. They encourage personal bonding time before all the medical records. And she said depending on the midwife on call, they might let my DH pull baby out and hand him to me ? say what?! He said he would do it too

I plan on doing a home birth but I did tour my back up hospital and it sounds similar to yours...big rooms with a large tub and they give you the chance to labor all over the room instead of being hooked up 24/7 to monitors. I think I'll be happy delivering there if something goes wrong or I don't make it to 37 weeks!

Mine u have the delivery and the recovery in the same room. They are private rooms n very spacious. You have ur own control for the tempature flat screen tv big bathrooms n a couch n recliner for visiters n partners
