Group b strep swab My doctor said that they give everyone the group b strep swab (even planned csection) just in case…

I've had 4 sections and had the swab every time :) just had it done friday

I haven't had the swap yet this time. I'm not even sure if she's going to do it since I tested positive for it last time almost 4 years ago. And she's just automatically can give me the antibiotics

My sister had 3 sections and they swabbed her for every one still ?

I got swabbed at 35 weeks and have a scheduled section for 39 weeks.

My c-section is on the 14th and I just had the swab last Monday (:

I already had mine also but I'm hopefully not having a csection. I was just wondering bc I think that's a great practice. I never thought about the "what-if" situations

@aubrey you might not test positive this time around, best to get the swab and hopefully avoid the antibiotics. I tested positive with my last pregnancy, and the antibiotics caused both my daughter and myself to get thrush. Really hoping it's negative this time.
