So people are complaining about people complaining?
Shall we complain about the people complaining about the people complaining?
I really don't understand the hype about this, it's a film it's not meant to be real life, it's meant for a adult audience so it shouldn't be portraying a 'bad message' to anyone because anyone with a ounce of common sense knows it JUST a film! No one had a bad word to say about it until the film came out but the same stuff was in the book
Ugh yeah and how he treats her like a child keeping tabs on how much drinks she should have and what car to drive. He sold her beatle without her knowing. I would be livid!! He is utterly controlling and I do worry that this film will not only make controlling acceptable but it's also glorifying it. I cheered inside when she left him in the end - and before anyone starts saying I've spoiled the ending for them it's fan fiction based on Twilight and they separate at the end of the first film so there ought to be no surprises there.
People are mainly ranting about it because of the way he is with her in "normal" life. True bsm couples are actually very respectful of each other. He tries to dominate her in everything, down to the type of pill she takes! It's an emotionally relationship! Kinky bedroom stuff is not even relevant as such, although I'm sure he ignored the safe word rule too!
Imagine for a minute how the story would read had he not been so rich and good looking..
Whoa, didn't expect to get as many replies. The film is better than the book. My OH can't wait to watch the second. He loved it!
Christian Grey does have personal boundaries issues that's irritating like breaking into her house and turning up to her mum's place where he wasn't invited.
As regards to the rape. There was a safe word that she could have used so I guess it's not technically rape.
I also agree with Ejw that CG is a bully and a stalker.
Jamie Dornan doesn't float my boat though he has a very pointy nose but they did a good job casting Ana.
I think it's all pathetic. It's a bloody book it's not real, it's all fantasy!!! People who are sitting getting the knickers In a bloody twist saying its rape clearly have nothing better to do and haven't read the books. It's not remotely even anything like rape. He explains everything, she knows the score, they have a safe word, she even signs to say she completely gets it all. Some people really have nothing better to do. It's a f*** ing book and it's not real. Xx
If it was a factual book I agree. However it's an erotic fiction and is all about fantasy. In the context of a sexual fantasy I think its ok. If you wanted to get really deep you could think of the phycology behind women having these kind of fantasies but really FSOG isn't really worth having a deep discussion about. It is an awful peice of literature, in fact you can't really call it literature. There is a drinking game where you take a shot eveytime Anastasia blushes or says "oh my"...gets u pretty hammered lol. If people really want to get their knickers in a twist they should read Captive in the Dark, now that is some f*** ed up s*** xxx
I haven't read the book, nor do I have any interest in doing so. But I have to agree. If a man or woman says no, refusing to have any kind of sexual interaction the other man or woman should stop. If he or she continues to do so without consent it is rape.
Even if it is within the limits of a BDSM relationship. No means no.
Yep, I'm with mama lol
