I'm crying for this child right now?

I wish people wouldn't be so ignorant and realize that Africa is a damn continent and not a country. There are many places in africa that are thriving. Most of the wealthy people I've ever known came from africa. Africa is not a third world country. America needs to look in their own backyard and realize that poverty, homelessness, and hunger are more prominent here than most countries in Africa.

P.s. yes, the picture is sad. No, those kids/ppl shouldn't have to suffer, but I've also seen a great many charity commercials where these ppl don't even live away from their trash heaps or junk yards and the trench they p*ss and sh*t in, is right in front of their door. It's not rocket science to b like 'hey, maybe we should do this AWAY from where we r on a regular basis'

Just saying....

When I got spare money, I'll help. Until then, my kids need food just as much as those ppls kids and ain't no-one sending me money (and no, we aren't talking about them wanting McDonald's and other things. I'm talking about very basic food).

There's a plain and simple answer.

Ebola isn't new either pp

Hunger is a huge issue across the world. It is on every continent, not just Africa. The flu also kills more people then ebola but I don't see photos like that being posted. And I do believe that "rich" people can also die of the flu.

Did someone really ask if Americans are the only ones helping? Like really? Of course you mostly hear about the aid that America sends if your in America.

It was recently on the uk news that an official investigation found that the yearly billions of British Aid money is funding corruption instead of feeding the poor.

Sad but I think there more to it.

@fiona that's seriously great.

Here in ireland we give millions to people in need every year. I believe we are among the most charitable nations in the world per capita. So no, not just america.

Edit: just checked stats and we are most generous country in europe and the fifth most generous in the world.

We send food over there all the time. Our government helps countries out like this ALL the time. So.... yeah its sad but it's not like we aren't doing anything.

And being rich. Most people work their ass off to get to were they are or for the money they have. You can't make this your problem for there's really nothing you can do.

But thanks for sharing. Ha

I was asking because I honestly didn't know. I figured other countries helped, but it's like you always hear about the U.S. Doing it. Sorry if I came off as "ignorant" but I can guarantee you I'm not.

Pp, we in England help other countries too, we have charities we can donate too or send stuff over. We also have something called comic relief (red nose day) once a year that raises millions of pounds to help people in Africa.

They won't even take our food because of how badly its prepared. Like, it's all mush with no nutritional value. I never understood why it's OUR place to make sure other countries have food and don't starve? Do other countries send food too? Or is it just America? I guess it's the "american" thing to do but idk. Do they even try and make their government better over there or just wait on handouts from other countries?

Who is blaming white rich Americans? Did I miss an ignorant comment?

africa wants to be a pit so it is. the regular ppl cant do anything because corrupt politicians and militias wreck the country. and we send over food and medicine and aid money. where gas it gotten us.....no where. the ppl i least want to help is africa. ebola is only as bad as it is cuz the country is too backward to take any actual precautions and provide basic medical care. how responsible for africas s*** are we supposed to be.

I hear about it all the time. In fact we send rice and stuff over there all the time but most of the time it never gets tp them because their own people with guns(Im not surw what they are called) take it from them.

Aragona that's not even what that poster is about. Nobody said anything about hunger being the fault of rich white Americans. My goodness.

It is considered a significant problem. There are entire organizations set up to help with it. It's not publicized like ebola because it isn't as new
