Measles ??? So we were out food shopping today and ran into our friends..

Just hoping, hoping, hoping she wasn't close enough! She sort of just stood on the other side of their trolley the whole time, but it's still scary!

Is it still has contagious once a rash has broken out?

I think so, for four days afterwards I'm sure I've read.

We've just been updated that it's only a suspected case, they're in hospital now, so it's a chance it's not the measles.. Fingers crossed (for her sake too!) that it isn't!

Eftomim, no offence taken! Mum and I read the post and we're both like are you f*ckinng serious! Keep your kid at home if they're sick ? I know it's not possible all the time but mum and dad were both there - there was no reason for the whole family to be out.

So the (kinda?) good news is that they don't think it's measles.. But they're unsure what it is.

It's probably just a viral rash

My 8 month old was exposed to measles two weeks ago at playgroup. Thankfully he is fine. Ridiculously, my daughter was also exposed to measles at a young age, and I remember the doctor then said the fact I was breastfeeding would greatly reduce the chance of my baby catching it as baby receives antibodies against it through my milk.

So turns out it actually is measles. All we can do is hope he didn't get close enough! And I'm still breastfeeding, so that's comforting!
