Travelling with baby!
Next month we're going to Melbourne from Thursday-Monday. Noah will be 2.5 months. We're driving from Newcastle. We plan on leaving Thursday, staying at Gundagai over night then getting to Melbourne Friday. We haven't decided yet whether we'll do a day trip back on Monday or stay somewhere the night.

We drove during my daughters sleeps and when she woke up we found a lark and put a picnic blanket down on the floor and let her have a good stretch.

If you have an iPad or a portable DVD player get some stuff for him to watch. Although he may not be super interested it may help to calm him a bit. If you can't stop (and are breast feeding) me and many other mothers have actually leant over the car seat to feed haha

At that age he will most likely sleep a lot of the time :) I would buy a baby car mirror for him to look into, you can get musical ones too that light up etc.

We do day trip between Sydney and Melbourne all the time but only Brisbane that we stop in between
Around the same age we went from Melb to Sydney let me tell you really wasn't easy cause my daughter wasn't easy baby :(
She cried allot and when ever time we stop and again drive she start all over again
I hope this will not be the case for ur baby
So as ppl said stop as much as u can to feed and walk with baby and you might find it easy for you to seat at the back next to the baby so you can calm him quick :)
If unfit one day trip much easy that sleeping over at night for us or the baby it's just easy to arrive to where you want to get to and just relax
