There's no way to know the perfect time until you are mentally prepared to take on the task of having another baby.
I can't really describe it but it was just before dd turned 2. She was becoming more independent and I guess I just felt like we were in a good position to do it. So I came off birth control and we started trying. We tracked everything and actively tried for a while but it wasn't working. So we stopped trying and decided to let nature take its course. After a month or 2 of just letting it happen I got pregnant again. We just had our baby boy at the beginning of March and our family feels complete ❤️.
There is no right time to know when you're ready. You'll just know when the time is right. I personally did not want babies too close together because I wanted to enjoy my daughters baby days and I felt like it would be irresponsible to neglect her needs while she was young. It's hard even now, she's almost 4 and it's difficult not giving her all of my attention but we make it work. So you need to prepare for that too.
I got pregnant with ds when dd was 10 months. He was an oopsie and exactly what our family needed ? I don't think we would've decided we were ready for a few more years, but ds is 8 weeks now, and we're doing great.
I wasn’t even ready to THINK about babies until dd was 3. I needed her to be independent, talking, potty trained before I was ready to consider going back to the newborn stage and starting all over. There are women who don’t need their kids to reach that level of independence before they are ready for another. I’m not one of them lol.
I'm 27 going on 28 and my son is 2 1/2. SO and I were planning on trying for baby #2 later this year, but during Thanksgiving I found out i was pregnant. Now I'm about 25 weeks with another son. I dont think theres any real way to plan it. I have a friend who's been trying by the book to get pregnant around the same time and now it's just not happening for her. It's not an easy thing to plan ?♀️
Well the way I decided was I made sure we were financially stable first, since I had my dsughter when I was 17 my husband and I were not living together so we didn’t have any bills when she was a newborn plus I was on GA and got help from my mom and dad. Now I live on my own with my husband have a full time job and my daughter is in pre-k (she’s 5) my husband and I thought this was the perfect time to start trying so the kids could be 5 years apart like me and my brother. I got pregnant right after I got my IUD taken out and now I am due in July so me and my husband is finally experiencing all of the difficult stages of being pregnant and is by my side all the time lol
Well we never decided they kind of all just came lol. My kids are all close in age though. First 2 are 2.5 years apart, the 2nd and 3rd are 21 months apart, and 3rd and this baby will be 16 months apart. So far I haven't experienced the 16 month obviously because im still pregnant, but that's the age group I worry most for, because dd is 11 months and doesnt crawl or walk and super super big momma girl. My boys are best friends (#1 and #2) and my dd just looooves her big brothers so I think their age group are pretty good. Stressful but its nice seeing them bond in a special way. My sister is 4 years older than me and my husband is 12 years old than his brother so I think for us we wanted a big family all close in age since we both grew up with only one sibling.
We didn’t decide.. nature (aka accidents) happened, lol! My 1st and 2nd are 16 months apart and my 2nd and 3rd are 28 months apart. So I had a child every other year. Tiring! But their bond is really special and I see my 1st two are so close.
I am done with having kids. I am TIRED to the max.
i have the same thoughts as yours, only i’m currently 23 weeks pregnant with #2 and my dd is 2.5 years old. i always want my kids closer but we waited a while because i had a c section and i really wanted a vbac, i want to have higher chances of it being successful.
i love how i’m able to sleep now, she just weaned off bf before she turned 2yo but i think it’s best to get it all over with asap. lol. if you’re planning for more children, you’re gonna have to sacrifice some sleep sooner or later, better sooner i think, while you’re still young with lots of energy.
We didn't decide. My birth control failed and my boys are 22 months apart. I absolutely love their age gap but in my head I would have never had planned them this close together. Ideally I would have been trying to get pregnant now or have been pregnant now that my oldest is almost 3.
Thanks for your replies everyone. The conclusion I have drawn is that I should get accidently pregnant and take the choice out of it lol. Nah seriously we will probs just stop preventing towards the end of the year. It's just so scary!
