In need of serious advice!!!
I stopped nursing cold turkey on Friday. We had our last nursing session Friday early morning. Ds is one. He has been sleeping through the night ok but wakes up at 4 AM tossing and turning and can't get back to sleep. Then for his naps he his also just tossing and turning for the most of the time. He is being very clingy and needy. Is this normal??! I seriously am crying and so frustrated because he just shrieks and screams over everything I want to scream and cry all day long with him because I can't do anything and he is just not himself. What can I do to help this situation?? Help me please!!!!

It will end soon. Just snuggle. Most of the time he just wants comfort. Be strong, offer a bottle. He will be okay. Let him know you're there for him.

It's probably just him getting used to not nursing. Did you usually nurse him for naps? Are you sure he isn't hungry / eating enough solids, I get grumpy when I'm hungry lol.

He is eating a lot. And drinking plenty. He was used to being nursed for naps and would wake up at night to nurse

Definitely just getting used to not nursing then!! I haven't weaned dd yet, but I'm not looking forward to it. She always nurses to sleep and barely touches her solid food ?. Just stick with it & keep comforting him to sleep, he will get used to it soon!!
I also read when you stop that your hormones can get kind of crazy, so keep that in mind too!

He is just driving me insane. I had to walk out of the house today just to the driveway and breath because he is so clingy and whining over everything

It's hard on them. I don't know if you were doing it gradually or not but it is a big change for him.

Is there a reason you stopped cold turkey as opposed to gradually? I would find a way to get the snuggles, cuddles and comfort as close to when you were nursing him as possible. Snuggle him close to you while you give him a bottle or rock him. It will take time.

@pookiedo I had cut out nursing during the day and only nursing during sleep. But eventually he just started using me as a pacifier and I figured it would be easier to just take away all feeding during sleep time. I try to just hug and snuggle him as much as possible but he pushes me away when I hug him and climbs on me when I don't hug him.

It's probably a little bit of a phase as well, both my kids were extra clingy around 11-14 months. I didn't breastfeed so I can't comment on that part, but I'm sure it's a combo of both. Don't worry momma, it will pass :)
