Pump a little less each day, feed him with the bottle unless your already producing a lot less its hard to stop cold turkey with pain and leaking in your breasts.
I lay on my side and my son feeds or uses me as a pacifier. That way I can get some rest while he is feeding. I also started cutting out day feeds. I would pump when I was engorged but slowly minimize the day feeds. My son only eats or uses me as a pacifier during nap time and bedtime. Sometimes, he uses me as a pacifier during the day and that is when he just refuses to go to sleep on his own or refuses the bottle. He's 5 weeks old and already has a huge personality lol.
I've just been rubbing my daughters hair, and back to get her to sleep. She doesn't nurse nearly as much as she used to (she's 16 months) I feel your pain. With summer coming it's to hot. You pretty much can't give in though. My daughter will put up a fight some times 5 minutes sometimes almost an hour. I am there with her rubbing her and eventually she will be okay.
I quit at 18 months with my son for all of the same reasons as you. I stopped cold turkey. It took about 3 nights for him to get it but it was horrible because he screamed the whole night through. I just stood my ground and kept offering him milk or watered down juice from a cup during the night and gave him lots of love. Cold turkey is no joke. It was extremely hard on the both of us but I'd tried the weaning thing and it simply wasn't working. Good luck.
Stop your milk supply put refrigerated cabbage on your boobs so you help with engorgement and stop for milk production or you can try cutting down the feedings keep them short and redirect his attention put him in his cribs for naps
I did just stop cold turkey when my son was 12 months and put him out of my bed to a crib he was not happy for about 3 days. I stoped nursing and would truy to give a bottle he was never bottle fed before if he is hungry he would eat real food if he wanted too nurse he got a bottle. He was Not a happy camper but it was ok. when he turnd 15 months he was off the bottle completely.

Dr Jay Gordon has a great method that I will use. He supports bed sharing. http://drjaygordon.com/attachment/sleeppattern.html

Thank you ladies for the article and advice. I think I might put duct tape on my Boobs though!
