MD degree
Anyone going for it or know someone who is? I am really thinking about it... But at the same time holding back. I have two kids and I've always felt like I wouldn't be any good or useless. I LOVE the medical field. I did my medical assistinv( just to see if I liked the medical field) and I loved it. But I want something bigger.

I have my MD and it is killer to obtain. Do you have your bachelor's degree?

I don't see how it would be useless the one thing you have to think off I dare you willing to dedicate most of your time to school specially once its time to do your residency you have to work long hours and might not be able to spend much time with your kids money wise it would be great but if your not willing to dedicate so much time to it you could always become a PA or nurse practitioner it's less school and wouldn't be working such long hours pay is still really good

@dnacer. I do not that's what makes me double think everything becaus ei have to start from the beginning. How do you like it? Do you enjoy it?
@lil I'm mostly afraid of failing at the whole thing. My dad always told me I sucked at life in general and it's been drilled in me and at times makes me feel like I would be useless or not be able to do it.

How long have you been an MA for? And what type of practice do you work in? What I recommend is doing what I'll be doing take it one degree at a time first I'll be getting my bachelors in nursing and once I have that I will decide if I want to be a PA or MD

I've only been doing it for 2 years. Except I'm a sahm that's why I'm thinking of doing it. Are you going to an actual school or doing online?
Eta I've been working in a spine clinic

I love being a doctor but I've poured 14 years of literal blood sweat and tears into getting there. I always suggest starting with the basic sciences and go from there. It's a long road and I have a ton of debt from it even though I had a scholarship for undergrad. It's something you gave to be a thousand percent sure you want. I knew I wanted to be a doctor for yrs and even with that I almost gave up plenty of times.

I've always wanted to be a Doctor since I was a kid but I wanted to make sure I liked it and could handle it I love my job I've been doing it for 6 years now and think it's time to go back to school I have to boys so I've been holding back because I don't want to spend all my time in school because it is 14 years of long hours and hard work I work at an urgent care so I work 3 12-13 hour days so I get 4 days to spend with them I've been debating going back to school but I finally am going to get my bachelors in nursing it'll take 3 years in thinking of starting in June and it'll be in class I don't think I would get anything done if I did online classes if I decide to further my education after that I wouldn't have any more kids for sure because I feel being in my children's life is more important and I would wait a few years after getting bachelors and wait for them to be older to do that because they're more important to me I would love to be a Doctor though when I hit the 5 year mark I was burnt out and questioned if I wanted to continue in the medical field but now again I feel like this is for me we've all been though it and some really decide to to continue but the ones that have like myself give it our all and enjoy it even more after getting through that I really would recommend you getting your bachelors in nursing and seeing how you do with that then go from there even that itself is a lot of work I have a friend that has dedicated her life to school and work she's a wonderful nurse and was working on her masters but quit her job and school when she had her daughter because that's where she spent most of her time and didn't want to neglect her daughter

I got burnt out because I got tired of rude patients and non compliant patients that just want you to do magic and cure them without lifting a finger or doing anything for themselves I got tired of being so nice and caring and getting rudeness in returned including getting cursed at multiple times and patients getting mad for not getting what they want them not caring if we ate or what time we got out and feeling they have the right to act that way because they're sick and it's my job to deal with it and lazy MAs and X-ray techs leaving me to pick up they're slack or blaming me for things they did I thought about quitting but I really don't see myself doing anything else I've been told by patients and Doctors and PAs that I should further my education and they think I'll be a good Doctor or PA but like I said I'm taking it a degree at at time putting my kids first
