A French for dummies book, as a joke gift, hat, scarf and gloves, a small amount of euros, a travel mug for coffee on the go, pens and a diary (so she can write down her time in France to remember forever)

I studied abroad and some small reminders of home were wonderful. Little treats that she won't be able to get in France could be a nice idea :)

Chap stick, notebook/journal for memories, maybe a memory card for her camera if she has one, favorite non perishable American food item like Mac and cheese or something she really likes, or maybe money to spend there.
