Once your LO is sitting on their own and they can hold their head. some babies will even reach for the food you eat while you are eating. I skipped the cereal, I'll bump a post for you with some info I think mags posted a while back.
Thank you... Now I have to figure out how to educated dhs stubborn family.... They have been bugging me at when I'm going to start and he needs it to last fuller and bla bla bla... I honestly enjoy breastfeeding even though it's pretty demanding at times.
Human digestive enzymes aren't even present in the human body until they begin to develop are oh d 6-9 months old with 9 months being the normal and typical time when digestive enzymes begin developing.
Waiting to at least 6 months to start is best for baby.
Pediatricians Do Not even study nutrition or the digestive system fully, they only go by what they are told to say.
And wic staff are taught to go by their standards. Their nutritionist can only go by what the wic dictates.
Go to a real nutritionist from the hospital.
You can start with cereal or vegges. Waiting at least 1 week with 2 weeks being better between introducing a new food is best. Some babies can give a delayed reaction to a food, especially when introduced before 9 months old. Again, since digestive enzymes aren't even present so it can take the body a little more time to even figure out what he heck it is and what to do with it before deciding no, that won't work here.
If you do blw you will know. Start at 6 months and just simply offer what you are eating. Baby will eat when he/she is ready. Keep nursing/bottle feed on demand :)
Edit; let baby feed her/himself. Dont spoonfeed or force. Just let it take time.

You know when they're at least 6 months old if not older.
Check out "open gut" writings.

Our pediatrician told us 6 months.
And I'd skip the cereal. It's empty calories. Little to no nutritional value
