dilated kidney ???!!!
Has anyone else been told their baby had a dilated kidney during the anatomy scan ? I was told today ds had a dilated kidney, dr said it has nothing to do with down syndrome especially since my blood work had come back negative for it. She said to come back at 30 weeks and if it was still dilated when ds was born he would need antibiotics. Any advice ??? Im a wreck

My little girls left kidney is dilated. I had to see a specialist for it who referred me to a pediatric specialist for kidneys (sorry forgot the technical name for it.) but my daughters doctor is pretty confident it'll clear up after labor with some antibiotics and if not then he will perform a small surgery after she's 1. I'll be 35weeks tomorrow and have been dealing with this since I was 16 weeks. Whatever you do stay off google! The only down side to this is she's more prone to bladder infections and stuff like that. Oh and my daughter does not have Down syndrome I've had ever test to make sure she didn't. Good luck! And if you need anything else like advice for this I'm here and can let you know what happens when she decides to make her grand entrance ?

Im currently 36 weeks & i have the same issue, my doc told me its because my son is not peeing enough, his kidney is 6.7 so when he is born they will keep him on observation, im freak out cause im a ftm =(

Well i asked if it was a sign of down syndrome and dr said no. And usually it resolves on its own. Im just hoping and praying it does. Thanks ladies and i hope everything is well with you and baby
