FERTILITY REFERRAL IN UK

Hi, last year I was referred to fertility specialists so I'll try answer any questions you have but I can't really remember details unfortunately. I think my first letter was addressed to us both & it said that it was important that both me & my husband attend. Maybe they don't have his details or

something, I'd give them a ring to check as we had to fill out forms at our first appointment & you don't want any delays.

I think everything went quite quick from my referral, appointments seemed to be every couple of months & after my first appointment I had a list of blood tests, scans etc to arrange on different days of my cycle.

Everything came back normal for me & my husband had slight sperm issues but they lost his first sample & after his second they said they'd need another to check it wasn't a one off then they lost his third sample too! Anyway he didn't need to go back thankfully as we made some slight changes & managed to get pregnant on our own :-)

Ah thank you :) I will give them a call. It just seams strange that they only addressed it to me when obvs its takes us both to make a baby! I've had tonnes of tests already and they have said that in fine (which I find hard to believe) and he's had samples taken and we know he has a low count. we just have to go and find out or options but obviously like I said. It's seams weird that only I have an appointment!

it's more the not knowing that I don't like. Like this appointment I don't really know what it's for or what's going to happen. I like to be in control and like to know what to expect.

Don't be nervous, if you've already found out your results then it can only be positive. They wanted us to continue trying for a certain amount of time then would consider ivf towards the end of this year. I know low sperm count could be down to a lot of things but if he drinks alcohol I would suggest him trying to cut it out for a while. My husband completely stopped drinking alcohol on Jan 1st (for a new years resolution thing more than ttc) and we were pregnant by May. I also had slightly thin lining & although they said it shouldn't cause an issue I've had 2 early miscarriages and thought maybe that was the reason. Someone suggested drinking Raspberry leaf tea so I also tried that for the 3 or 4 months leading up to my bfp. I'm sure those things helped :-)

His is due to an operation that he had when he was younger. he's a personal trainer so we both lead a healthy lifestyle. :) we have been trying for 2 years so I hope they don't make us keep trying for too much longer. Just wanna to have my baby now :( the waiting is killing me. I'm just being impatient! I know it will happen soon. fx
