Are we the only family?

Are we the only family that eats Thanksgiving dinner at dinner time? We eat dinner between 6:30 and I every night due to my work schedule. Even in Thanksgiving we still eat at this time. It's 6:43 and we just pulled out bird out of the oven. I always feel like the odd one but this is how it always was growing up and my SO was raised the same.

It's 5:40pm and we haven't eaten yet. We'll probably eat at 6 or 6:30.

It's almost 8:30 now and we've eaten and I've gotten everything cleaned up and all leftovers put away. We'll all have leftovers for lunch tomorrow, and the odds of me finding my SO eating some turkey in the middle of the night is pretty high, but I can't imagine eating all day like some people do.

Depends on the year. Some family have other family to go to so we try to arrange things where they're a few hrs later or before.

Today we had it at lunch time.

We started at 4. We usually try for 3 but everyone was late.

I think it's just what works for different people.

I would rather eat later. Went to my bfs parents for thankgiving around 2 and took home left overs. So do I have more thankgiving dinner for dinner or..? It would be much easier to make this decision if I just had it at supper time.

I come from an Italian family. All holidays are an all day eating event. Thanksgiving starts early afternoon with appetizers. Next course is lasagna, meatballs, and sausage. Then we have turkey, ham, and all the side dishes with that. Last is dessert and coffee. We are eating for a good 5 hours lol.

My husbands family did theirs at noon so that if anyone else had another thanksgiving to go to in the evening they could.

We've always had it around 1 because my aunt who usually hosted & my grandma are huge Black Friday shoppers so after we eat and clean up, they sit down with all the ads and make a game plan.

Then around dinner time, they would set out sliced bread and chips for leftover sandwiches ?

We did early bc by 6pm everyone is starving and cranky. My mom doesnt get the concept of you can have more than one meal on days like this.

Nope we haven't even ate yet. And it's 6:33

No we eat at our usual dinner time. Which is anywhere from 5 to 5:30pm. We did eat a little bit earlier this year but it was like 4:30-4:45 so not too much earlier.

No we do ours dinner time aswell. I always think having it for breakfast or lunch is weird. Maybe is just because I'm so use to having it around dinner time. My inlaws have theirs for lunch and I know people who have it for breakfast.

This is my first time cooking for hubby myself and ds and I made it so it would be finished at dinner time (we ate at 5pm)

MIL always made it for a late lunch (1-2pm) I never understood why

We have always had Thanksgiving dinner around lunchtime in my family growing up. SO's family usually all come together sometime that day and cook all day together as a family & eat in the evening around 6pm.

Which is first just depends. My sister & her SO come from out of town & this year needed to cone early bc her SO's family was doing dinner.
