Are we the only family?
Are we the only family that eats Thanksgiving dinner at dinner time? We eat dinner between 6:30 and I every night due to my work schedule. Even in Thanksgiving we still eat at this time. It's 6:43 and we just pulled out bird out of the oven. I always feel like the odd one but this is how it always was growing up and my SO was raised the same.
It's almost 8:30 now and we've eaten and I've gotten everything cleaned up and all leftovers put away. We'll all have leftovers for lunch tomorrow, and the odds of me finding my SO eating some turkey in the middle of the night is pretty high, but I can't imagine eating all day like some people do.
I come from an Italian family. All holidays are an all day eating event. Thanksgiving starts early afternoon with appetizers. Next course is lasagna, meatballs, and sausage. Then we have turkey, ham, and all the side dishes with that. Last is dessert and coffee. We are eating for a good 5 hours lol.
We've always had it around 1 because my aunt who usually hosted & my grandma are huge Black Friday shoppers so after we eat and clean up, they sit down with all the ads and make a game plan.
Then around dinner time, they would set out sliced bread and chips for leftover sandwiches ?
We ate at 530
