Upset, frustrated, unsure of what to do
This is going to be long and probably all over the place. Sorry about that if you make it through the whole thing ?

Has she ever had a drug problem? Her sudden change in behavior and financial responsibility is worrisome.

I was going to suggest a substance abuse issue as well.

Def sounds like a possible drug problem. I'd keep her away from your kids for a bit till things get sorted out.

I would probably talk with her and tell her you feel like she's distancing herself from you and you miss the closeness you once had. I understand the concern about possible drug use, but It's quite possible that the two of you are just at completely different places in your lives and she doesn't feel that connection to you because of it. If she is single and childless, her priorities are and can be completely different than yours. If talking to her doesn't yield answers, I would just focus on my husband and children and let her continue the path she's on. You definitely need to get your own car insurance and separate finances from her.

How is your husband not on your insurance? Here, spouses must be on the same policy. I had a real nightmare cancelling my policy when my husband split, but like hell I was gonna pay for him anymore.
Maybe cut ties for awhile and let her get her head cleared. She's obviously going through something.

I was gonna say something about drugs too. I hope I'm wrong tho. Maybe talk to her about how you feel. But if you feel that won't work or will turn into a argument maybe write her a letter.explaining how you feel and how much you miss how it used to be.
Even tho she says she don't want kids etc do you think she could have changed her mind and feels a little jealous of your life? I would have been very upset if she did That to me in regards to the kids and having your husband have to leave after you had had your baby. Hope you get it sorted soon x

My first thought was drugs, alcohol or both. From experience this is exactly what it sounds like. Maybe even gambling or somehow she got herself into trouble living her carefree life or something like that. I have no advice as I'm still dealing with this myself. If you ever want to talk or vent just message me (:

Sounds like my best friend when she was hooked on heroin. It's a long hard journey so I'm hoping that's not the case here. My friend was using for two years before I even knew, she was very good at hiding it.

That's the first thing I thought too. I certainly hope that's not it, because if it is that's it. I have no tolerance for it and will not allow it around my family. My family is rather large but I only speak to a handful I my family members because substance abuse runs rampant in my family. My oldest sister is a heroine addict and I've seen countless people die from addiction.
If it's anything it would definitely be a drinking problem. She really enjoys drinking and will whenever given the opportunity. I will have a few drinks every once in a while, or have one with dinner if we go out, but I can take it or leave it.
It's just breaking my heart. My SO doesn't have any family in the area, and isn't close with his family anyway. He has a younger sister who has met DS1 and DD once but does not seem interested in getting to know them. My sister is really the only extended family they know well, though hopefully my dad will spend more time with them soon, and they've always been so close. ?
I think I'm going to back away for a while. Just let it lie. I've told her how I felt, that our friendship was slipping away and I'm always met with how I'm overreacting and being dramatic. I'm hoping maybe she's just stressed and not handling things so well. I'm hoping she'll get in touch with me and we'll talk and sort it out. Until then, I'm just going to spend time with my family, work on getting us back on a schedule, and hope for the best.
Thanks for listening to me vent ladies. I certainly hope I don't lose another family member to addiction. It's such a difficult thing to deal with. I've already lost one sister though she's still alive, for now. ?

I agree with the other posters... Sounds like a drug problem.. I've been on both sides of the fence .. the addict and the person who loves the addict. There is absolutely nothing you can do until she wants help :(
