If it were me I would go in person and speak to them first. If it still didnt stop then I would call the police.

If you go talk to them first and they don't turn the volume down, you might end up having to call the cops anyway and they will know you did it... so I would say only go if they are reasonable people lol (you don't want to start a neighborhood feud with crazy people!)

I went to college, I know how easy it is to lose track of time and normally I would speak to them in person first. However, I tried that when we first moved in. I caught them out front one day and introduced myself and explained I had 2 young children and how this is a neighborhood full of families, etc...

I was met with sheer rudeness.

It's also Thursday night, not even the weekend and there seems to be an unsafe number of people gathered on their back porch. I've seen many times when porches have collapsed during college parties and injured and even killed people. It's becoming a safety issue, too, at this point.

I would never call. A neighbor of ours called on another neighbor one time when we lived in Phoenix. They were having a party and it was super loud, people in the street. Well the cops came and shut it down. The next day that neighbor got rocks thrown through their windows and at their car ??

I will never call in someone unless I HAVE to. Not that they aren't out of line... They are.

When I lived in the barracks I always had the displeasure of my wall neighbors playing music throughout every night keeping me awake. I finally got out of the army and felt like I'd never have to deal with it again, got an apartment and now my new neighbor plays loud music 24/7 and wont open the door when I go to ask him to turn it down. Our walls are paper thin :(

I'd definitely call, if they're three houses away and literally waking your kids up, that's insane. You're way nicer than me, I would've called a long time ago

I would call the cops. I would also try and contact the landlord maybe if you know who it is? College kids sound like renters to me.

I did call just after midnight. I wasn't the first one to make a complaint. I just called the police department since being noisy is in no way an emergency lol, and was informed an officer was already on the way. About 10 minutes later it was blessedly quiet and everyone was able to sleep. ?
