Help!! ?
Hi ladies. We recently moved into a house from our apartment. Our son (2 in December) loves the house, with the exception of when it's time to sleep. I guess he's scared to be alone in his new room. He screams and cries and just won't sleep.

He is a baby, in a new environment. Its normal for him to need you to adjust to his new room. Its dark and different at night for him. Continue to help him adjust. You're doing what a mother should do.

Could there be a ghost in the room ?? ?
I wouldn't leave him alone to cry himself to sleep, that's cruel.

Try a nightlight (soft lamplight) and/or do the falling asleep snuggling in his room. By moving him to the couch you're reinforcing his feelings that he can't fall asleep in his room. Make it routine for you to snuggle him to bed then down the road when he's comfy you can try to ease out via CIO etc but new place new sounds new issues

Try a night light or a music box, our kids are all very co dependent and have a hard time being alone, we let them fall asleep to they're favorite movie

Thanks ladies. He's in his crib now and calm, hopefully almost asleep, but I'm still in his room with him. I'm sitting by his crib not saying anything or touching him but my presence has definitely helped.
However, I also have a daughter (6 months) who started crying and though I waited for my SO to soothe her, it never happened. So I had to leave and see what was wrong because I won't leave her crying either. My SO was just ignoring it until I showed up and said since I think I'm such a great mother I can take care of everything.
So I got her back to sleep and had to start all over with my son who was worked up into a frenzy by the time I got back.
Once I get him to sleep I'm strongly considering packing my SO's things and tossing them out. It's one thing to argue and disagree about parenting styles, it's a completely different matter to let your children suffer out of immaturity.
Thanks for the advice, ladies. We have a nightlight already and a music box is a great idea. TV stimulates him too much still, but I feel he will probably need to fall asleep to TV in the future.

Wow! That was definitely an immature response. Are you having other problems besides this? Immature response but leaving him over it seems dramatic. Continue to ease DS into and also highly suggest a night light.

He does immature stuff like this all the time. If the kids are sleeping and we start bickering or arguing, usually over nothing, he'll be loud on purpose and wake the kids up "just to torture me."
I'm also newly pregnant again, and though I will never regret this baby, I do regret the timing a lot. We already have 2 young children, but it happened. I honestly just don't have the patience for someone who is nearly 30 to act the way he does a lot of the time.
My children will always come before myself or anyone else. I love my SO but he has to stop putting his needs about our children's needs. That's not the way it works.

Update: finally got my baby boy to sleep! It's 3:54am and I know he would've fallen asleep sooner had I not had to leave the room for his sister...but oh well.
SO decided on his own to sleep on the couch. Good. He can stay there for good for all I care. We'll be having a very long discussion when we wake up.

Hopefully everything gets better for you and LO.
Playing music at night helps my two year old a bunch.

Your SO is being a selfish prick

Waking up sleeping children ON PURPOSE during an argument to punish you... Is abuse. It's abuse of the children, and of you.
I'd highly encourage him to take an anger management class, he clearly is not able to work through his feelings well.

My daughter will he 2 in Dec also. This is what I did.... she all the sudden refused to sleep in her crib so we converted to a toddler bed.... I read her a few books while she's in bed.... kiss good night and lied on the floor in her room while she fell asleep. Then I left the room once she was asleep. Did this for about a week... then instead of laying there I just told her mommy is in the next room and if she needs me to call me. Rubbed her little back for maybe 2 or 3 minutes and left the room. She understood everything I told her and was asleep soon after I left the room.
