Elevated lymphocytes? :/
Hi ladies. A couple months ago my son broke out in a rash. At the same time, he wouldn't sleep. He'd scream as if in pain. When we got him out of bed he'd squirm and twist and just couldn't get comfortable. It was weeks of that behavior. I, of course, took him to see his doctor who was concerned about the sudden appearance of both things (rash and pain). He had just finished a round of antibiotics for a double eat infection as well. Initially we thought the rash was a reaction to the medicine, but since it didn't show up until he was done with the medicine, she wanted to run some tests. We did a round of blood work. Everything was fine except his lymphocytes were elevated.

Its normal for lymphocytes to be elevated after an infection. Hopefully its just something that simple. Like a lingering ear infection.

That was our initial thought as well. Maybe his ear infection just never cleared up. He's showing no signs of an ear infection at all, though. He's no longer pulling at his ears and there is zero redness and inflammation. We're still hoping maybe it's just not showing itself or something. He's 18 months and until this ear infection/rash thing he had no health problems at all other than an occasional minor cold.
