Help!
I had a baby girl a little over 3 weeks ago, and ever since my son has quit listening. He's 15 months and has always been a very well behaved child, if a little ornery. It's been hard on him to learn that my attention has to be split now, and since I'm EBF I end up spending a good deal of time feeding my daughter. I always make time for my son, though. He no longer listens when told no, just laughs and continues to do it. I do believe a small slap to the bottom is warranted in some cases, but he's too young for that sort of reprimand still. I sit down with him and explain to him that he can't do those things, that it's bad and that he could get hurt, but that doesn't work either. Any advice? I'm becoming pretty frustrated with the situation.

Sounds like he may be jealous a little make sure you spend equal time with him while baby sleeps..as far as discipline be consistent it may not work at first but will If you keep enforcing the consequence for behavior. Weather it's a little spank or a time out or a serious talk.his age serious talk may be a lil less effective

My daughter is 17 months and around his age she would stop in her tracks and listen when I told her no. Now she doesn't listen at all. I'm constantly saying no, don't do that, come out of there, etc. She'll tell me no, gimmee, let go, etc. To me it comes with along with their developing and maturing where as they are exploring they are gaining a more confident outlook on their life and surrounding. Not really sure how to explain. Or have any solutions. She's my first and I'll be having my second in 3 weeks. I'm like you where I believe in reprimand but also know she's too young for that. So I do talk to her. But I don't know any other way but me having to wait until she's old enough to learn right from wrong to begin fully being obedient.

He just needs more attention. When kids act out they get scolded and for them thats attention, even if its negative attention its still something, so give him more positive attention.

This is hard he's jealous of the new baby , you can try having a nursing basket of toys that only come out when you are breastfeeding it will help some. What I did when my daughter was jealous of her new bother is I would have her help me without the baby around , like make a obj sandwich with mommy while daddy took care of baby in different room. Also I wore baby in a sling and went about my day as normal as possible , going outside to run around really helps a lot as well as tiring them out as much as possible
