Looking for some advice!

Looking for some advice!

Hi ladies! I'm a bit nervous with my second pregnancy. I'm sorry this is so long but I need to give you a history of my first pregnancy. With my first things went smoothly until I was 34 weeks when I was admitted to the hospital. I woke up bleeding heavily and my blood pressure was sky high. It topped out at 190/123. They were prepping me for delivery at that point when my BP suddenly started to go back down. I was monitored and though my BP stayed elevated it was no longer putting me or my baby at risk. They checked my urine but my protein level was always normal. I was kept in the hospital for monitoring since the bleeding kept coming and going and I eventually went into labor and delivered my son at 35 weeks. There was not a confirmed diagnosis for why that happened. I'm now 12 weeks along and I'm steadily feeling worse and worse. I get frequent, severe headaches. My nausea and vomiting are only getting worse day by day. For the past week I've been having pains in my upper right abdomen, starting out dull and progressing to sharper pains. I contributed these pains to phantom gall bladder pains. I had my GB removed a couple years ago and have heard that can happen. However, I learned today that pre eclampsia can affect your liver and cause pain. So, naturally, I'm concerned. Because I wasn't diagnosed with anything, my OB doesn't want to classify me as high risk, yet anyway. I have only had blood work done to confirm the pregnancy and don't have my first real appointment for another week. My question is, am I just worrying myself or should I be concerned by this? I would hate to ignore symptoms, but I also have an 8 month old son to take care of and can't just run off to the hospital. Any advice from you wonderful ladies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for reading such a long post!!

I honestly don't know. Although, I'm a firm believer, after 2 pre term babies, that if something feels wrong...it prolly is. I'd address it for sure Mama. Good Luck!

Hi there! Sorry you are not feeling well. I would definitely call your dr and ask them to do some tests. It is early for pre e to start, as it normally starts after week 20. That being said, I'm only 18 weeks and have been hospitalized for 4 days due to high BP. I had no protein in my urine, though, which is a good sign! Maybe that will give you peace of mind. It is a very simple test they can do to test if there is any protein present. I do know that pre e is nothing to mess around with and can develop very fast, so I always err on the side of caution! Hope you start feeling better!

I recommend to go get checked ASAP. I presented w high blood pressure and my OB sent me directly to the ER. I'm only 16+3, and had no protein in my urine, but for sure my other preE blood levels came back abnormal. Even the ER doc said that I needed to be careful from here on out. The abdominal pain, headaches, HBP, and out-of-the-blue nausea all sound like preE. See if you can talk to a perinatologist. They should be able to help your symptoms and protect you and baby!!!
