Let your lo nurse longer to reach the rich hind-milk. Letting them nurse in their sleep is great for this.

Increase the fat content in your diet. Nuts, avocado, eggs, cheese, and full-fat greek yogurt are great snacks.

Definitely join a Facebook support group also. They are so helpful.

Good luck!

I'd recommend you follow a fb page called the milkmeg. She shares soooo much bfing info to quiet the misinformation out there. I'm sure her posts would help you see that bfing babies sometimes act differently than others, but it's very very normal and natural

That is a completely normal breastfeeding habit, especially for newborn babies which your son is. The first 3 months are really all about establishing supply and his nursing habits will probably change over and over again. If he is at your breast all day it's normal, it probably means a growth spurt as there are a few in the first three months. If he stops and wants to start back up again, that's normal too. He knows what he's doing mama.

If he is gaining weight and has enough wet and dirty diapers you are doing a great job. Breastfed babies have these habits to create and establish your supply, to compensate for growth spurts, or when sick. Formula fed babies have different habits because they don't have to do that work. It's not a bad thing! But your sons behavior is totally normal!

If you really want to exclusively breastfeed just keep letting him nurse how ever and as long as he would like. It is all about supply and demand, the more baby nurses the more your body makes. Don't supplement as that will hurt your supply. The more you feed the more you make.

It sounds like you're doing a good job.

To answer your question everybody's milk looks completely different! Some peoples milk is more white, some is more yellow, and some can actually have a blue or green tint to it. Never compare your milk to someone elses as yours is made for your baby and will look different from person to person. If you pump you'll probably notice when you start ot looks more watery, as you keep pumping it will look more creamy, this is fore and hind milk and the more you pump or let baby eat on one side the more fatty milk they will get.

Always remember demand = supply. If you think you don't have enough, just sit back with a glass of water, relax and let baby suck as long as they will. The more they try to feed the more you will produce for future feeds. If you are really concerned though, please talk to a lactation consultant. :)

Our breastmilk is made perfectly for our babies and changes throughtout the day. If bub has enough wet nappies and gaining weight I wouldn't worry. Babies can often cluster feed or have times of the day they just want to feed constantly, this is normal :)

@pps lo has plenty of wet and dirty diapers. And had been gaining weight.

I think its not enough cause he will nurse then sleep for 5-10 minutes then wake up to be nursed all over again

Bm changes color/consistency in one feed! The foremilk is watery white almost bluish and hindmilk looks very creamy

Bm can be many shades of white. At one point my milk had a greenish hue to it ?. Totally normal.

Why are you thinking it's not enough for your LO?

Breastmilk can change colors almost daily.. I've seen green tinted, blue tinted, yellowish and almost clear!

Protip, dont compare your milk to anyone else- The colour or quantity. Follow your baby's cues... enough wet diapers? Poop looking as it should (you can Google photos)? Weight gain on track?

My breastfeeding experience was vastly different between my 2 babies, five years apart. Good luck!
