so I have a question??
So I gained 60 lbs with my son. He's almost 7 months and I am 3 months pregnant again. I didn't get to lose any weight before hand and I haven't gained weight this pregnancy yet. Is it possible for me to lose weight during this pregnancy in a healthy way. Obviously I won't be dieting. But like eating healthier and excersizing. Cutting things out of my diet like pop and super sugary stuff except on occasions :). But is it ok for me to lose weight as long as the baby is healthy and I'm eating a healthy amount. I am considered obese. I am 220lbs and I want to lose some weight but I won't even bother with it if it will hurt my baby.

I think the most important thing is to eat heathy. If you're eating the appropriate amount of heathy calories, your body should know what to do to take care of your baby. I've read you only need to add about 300 calories in the second trimester and only 500 more in the third. That's not a lot when you think about it! Your doctor may be able to refer you to a nutritionist so you keep in balance. But in general, I've read how many woman, obese or otherwise, have lost weight, especially during the first trimester. Good luck!

Yes. If you are obese, usually your dr will allow losing weight in healthy ways. Walking, eating well, etc are perfectly ok.
Best of luck to you!

I haven't been able to start eating healthier yet (money issues) but just from drinking nothing but water I have lost five pounds in two weeks! My doc said as long as everything was healthily done it was perfectly acceptable for me to lose weight!

Switching to water is a big one. Sodas have so so much sugar in them. It'll make a huge difference on its own.

I was in the same boat with this pregnancy. I was stuck at 170 ( lost 30 lbs) but a long way away from my original 125. I haven't changed my diet, we eat fairly healthy, but I've been walking 2 hours about 3-5 times a week. I'm currently 11.5 weeks pregnant and have lost 10 lbs so far.

Absolutely, yes. Be wary of "hidden" sugars, in basically any packaged foods - cereal, pasta sauce, ready meals you name it. There's loads of great docos on Netflix if you're interested in how the food industry is stacked to basically get people addicted to their products

Thanks you guys. I really am having issues with my self asteem because of my weight. I have never been over 200 lbs before. So this really hit me. With this baby I keep losing weight then gaining it back but never going over the 220 lbs that I was when I started. So idk what's up with that

I'm in a similar situation and have managed to keep my weight down. I didn't gain any weight til about 30wks and I've gained about a pound a week since then, which I'm okay with because I tell myself it's all baby lol. I still have all the baby weight from my first too but hopefully it'll be easier to lose after this lo

My first pregnancy I gained 60 lbs, the last two I only gained about 30. What I ate made a huge difference. I know I ate terribly with the first. Even with eating well and being active I still gain about a pound per week, but at least I know it's not from being out of control. Cut soda and sweets, go for walks, and you should be fine.

Don't want to bombard you but this is a passionate topic for me! Keep in mind also that not all calories are made equal - 550 of fibre-dense, additive-free veges will nourish you while the same of manufactured food could just be turned straight into fat. If you like reading I have been loving the book Healthy Food, Healthy Gut, Happy Child. It's an eye-opener.
