Really upset :( Today I took my 10 day old son to see his doctor because I noticed he isn't moving his right arm. Doctor suspected a fracture in his collarbone so we done xrays and its confirmed he has a fracture. I'm so mad at my OB because she didn't mention any chance of damage when his shoulders got stuck during birth. Poor little guy has been suffering with this fracture 10days now and I didn't even know :( anyone had this happen? Did your babies heal Ok?

Wasn't your baby checked by a pediatrician before you could be discharged? I'd be mad at the pedi not the OB. Either way, I hope he heals well and things go smoothly from here on out. I think one of my friends babies collarbone broke on his way out because he was a little big for her. Bruised face and broken collarbone. But he healed up really quickly it seemed and he's perfectly healthy now. Happens more often than we imagine!

Yea the hospitals pediatriction was there to check him but She didn't mention anything either. It's just so upsetting that they can overlook things like this and it causes the baby so much pain. I'm glad to hear that your friends baby healed, I'm praying for the same

Oh man so sorry to hear this! Yes I would be mad at the peditrition cuz they should of picked up on that before you were discharged. Poor baby?

Oh goodness, I’d be calling my hospital to make a complaint!! I hope he heals quickly. Poor baby!!

I didn't even think to blame the pediatriction but you ladies are right. This was the responsibility of the hospitals pediatriction. I'm so glad this is not my baby's doctor. I think I will be filing a complaint, any suggestions how I can do that? Do I just call the hospital? I'd hate for this doctor to go around making this mistake with other little babies

I would contact your states medical board and file a complaint against the doctor that checked the baby/hospital. How was baby discharged in good health with a fracture? Poor baby must be in so much pain and what if you wouldn’t have noticed the lack of movement? Someone could have held the baby a certain way and did more damage without knowing baby already had a fracture. I’m sorry you both have to go through this ?

@@mmonquie he was discharged without any issues according to the pediatriction. She didn't mention any fracture. I doubt she noticed anything. I noticed, many doctors at the hospital don't even bother to come see you when it's not your first baby. I guess they assume, you the mother, know everything. I am really thankful he didn't sustain more damage due to us not knowing about his injury. Apparently all that swaddling that I was doing was helping his fracture heal
