Third, this baby was meant to be. You can get through anything thrown at you. One day at a time. I'm sure your oldest will love to help out. For me adding another kid isn't that bad. It gets easier once you all get on a new/ adjusted schedule. You've got This!

Our 4th was a surprise too but honestly it's been the easiest transition out of all our kiddos! Mine are 6, 5, 3 and 1 now. The best thing we did was get organized and have daily charts for the kids. I do weekly meal planning and have everything budgeted. I order my groceries online from Walmart or king soopers and pick them up. The kids each have their own daily chart of a few easy chores and activities to do like my 3 year old wipes the downstairs sink every day, they each have dry erase writing (circles for my youngest, ABCs for my 5 year old and journal and math for 6 year old) plus daily reading. It keeps them busy and they love being able to mark things off and at the end of the week they get to choose a small thing from our treasure chest if they completed every day. So budget, organization and kids helping out is the key to me not going crazy!!

I, too, just found out I'm expecting #4. Mine are almost 5, 3, and 18 months. Now, we have to upend our whole home and create new space in our unfinished 2nd Floor for my husband and I, so our 4 children can be divided among 3 bedrooms. It's a great deal of work and just making lists is stressing me, but I know this baby was meant to be ours, so we just have to buckle down and do what needs done. I know it'll work out. Us moms have a way, somehow, of making it happen. It's all overwhelming to take on all this extra PLUS the day to day of raising 3 little ones. Sending positive vibes your way!

We are in the pretty much the same boat! I have 3 girls 6,4,2 also. We were trying for #4 only took 2months. But last night I had so much anxiety about it, some days the girls test every last bit of my patients and I wonder how I will juggle another. It's an awful feeling I am so happy great-full and this is exactly what we wanted, but I feel like I won't be good enough or have enough time or patients to go around ?

I have a 11 year old and 3 year old twins. Now pregnant with a surprise baby (was on birth control). We had already decided that we weren't having anymore. And got rid of all of our baby stuff.

I seriously appreciate all you ladies for replying and helping me feel a bit at ease. You ladies are right! Kids are blessing and I can't forget that, no matter how difficult it may get. I appreciate all the advice on organizing, I feel that will help me get on track. Thank you so much!!

I have a 5, 3, and 1year old. Surprise pregnancy with #4, and he/she will be 17 months behind my last one. Eek that's close! My initial reaction was dread but now I am used to the idea. At least the numbers will be even and they are all close together. In a year you won't be able to imagine your family without the new addition.

You sound like me! I have 5. #4 and #5 were surprises. They are almost 9, 7, 5, 3, and 1! There are hard days. While I'm not wishing them to grow up faster, I'm looking forward to the easier times when they are a little bit older! (Easy as far as doing normal chores,errands, and fun experiences)

My fourth pregnancy wasn't really a surprise, and I'm not sure how I do it. Right now I'm tired. Sore all the time. Can't do what I'd like to. My kids are 8,6 and 4. One day at time and thankfully I have my husband's help, even if it's just a bit... And the older kids help out as they can. I have a goddaughter that lives nearby and helps out one morning a week with stuff I can't get around to doing.

I just found out I was having a #5 surprise, after I was totally done after 4 ? but a wise really old man told me once, you never regret the kids you have, just the ones you don't ?. It's helped me cope a lot this week! Mine pretty much entertain themselves most of the time, built in best friends.
