Is 13 week the second trimester?
Had my first appointment with maternity clinic in my town as I also just have a nurse practitioner as a doctor. And I got to hear baby's heartbeat today and was nice to finally hear it. 13 weeks tomorrow does that mean second trimester now? Also is fast heartbeat said for girl or boy?

Depends on your doctor honestly. 13 weeks is 2nd trimester according to my doctor, mayo clinic, planned parenthood, and that is how we define it in child and adolescent psych. However we used to say 14 and so some stick with that despite the change to 13.

It depends on who you talk to. My OB always said 13 weeks. 40 divided by 3 is 13.33 so I'm assuming it's technically between 13 and 14. But ultimately does it really matter?! I'm going with 13 weeks. I'm just excited to make it to 12 weeks honestly.
