When I had Mirena my period was like 1 to 2 days. I did bleed for two weeks after it was placed but I loved having it and had no issues conceiving after it was removed.

I Was Having A Good Experience But I'm Going On 2 Weeks And Some Days Of Having My Period And Wasn't Sure It Was Normal Other Than That It's A Really Great Birth Control!

I had a Mirena (with hormones) for like 8 -9 years and had almost no periods. I would spot for a couple days once every couple months but that was it. Loved it!!

I took it out and got pregnant within first cycle trying both times. First one I had a healthy baby girl, second time I miscarried at 9wks, now pregnant again. I would definitely opt for the Mirena again in the future, I had a great experience.

If you are bleeding more with non hormonal I suggest you tell your doctor. Because it can cause anemia. And yes the perfect way to know if you're pregnant or not is by feeling the strings. Though the strings move up sometimes but they will come back down. I didn't feel the strings but I wasn't so concerned because I had missed periods too sometimes. (Twice since I got it) both time the test came out negative. Nothing helped me :/ so I'm sorry I can't be of any help

Well I Took A Pregnancy Test Because I Hadn't Gotten My Period, It Came Out Negative. I Have The Non Hormonal One As Well, I Can Feel My Strings So I Know It's Still In Place

Mine perforated my uterus. The doctors kept saying it fell out without me noticing. We insisted they keep looking and it turned out to be floating around inside me. I needed an emergency operation. I have since been told by several healthcare professionals that this is not nearly as rare as reported.

It depends if you have the hormonal or non hormonal. Mine was non hormonal and I got my period for 14-18 days and then no period for two weeks and then again for 14-18 days. I talked to my doctor she did a test and said my blood level is low but not too low come back in two months for another check up. When I did she called me to say my levels dropped more so she suggested I take them out. When I agreed and she wanted to take it out she couldn't find the strings. Did another blood test and I was pregnant.

If you have hormonal it will reduce in a few months is what I was told.

I had mine for 5 years, period went from 5 days to 3. Had it removed just before the 5 year mark to try again, took 7 months to get pregnant, suffered 2 miscarriages. Finally successfully conceived 15 months after having it removed.

When I was On The Pill It Would Last A Month Of Bleeding Then Nothing For 1-2 Weeks Them Start Again ? I Have No Idea What's Going On! Before Having My Daughter I'd Only Get My Period 2-3 Times A Year For 7 days

I've heard that some people do bleed for a long time when they first get it. I personally have heard too many bad stories to get it myself.

Mine lasted around 3-4 days and was very light

I didn't have one at all! I had mirena for 3 years with no issues, so I thought until I went for my yearly pap and the dr couldn't find the strings so he sent me for an X-ray. Turns out it had perforated my uterus and was just floating around in my pelvic region. Had to have it surgically removed ?
