My baby is tongue tied and he has an appointment to have it snipped on Thursday and I'm really scared that it's going to hurt him has anyone gone through this can you explain the process and is there any blood also is there healing time or is it just a snip and it's done and over with?

My nephew had it done and was fine thAt evening. From what I understand they numbed it and clipped it then was fine.

My son had it done at 10wks old he cried for maybe a minute after and they encouraged us to give him a feed immediately after to help with healing but within ten mins you wouldn't have known it had been done to be honest, there was only a little visible blood but looked worse due to being in the mouth x

My son had it done at 3 weeks. It made such a difference in his latch! He didn't even act like it hurt after!

My niece had it done. I think it was really simple. My SIL had to do some mouth exercises on her a few days to keep it from reattaching.

It's a pretty quick, simple, and nearly painless procedure, that can usually be done right in your doctor's office. They'll use a topical anesthetic, and then snip it. You can read more about it here:
