I been having diabetes for the past 12 years . I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant and for the past 3 days I been having the virus . I went to the hospital the first time I went in with the symptoms of blood sugar high and also vomiting and diarrea , they brush it off and send me home this happen on Monday then yesterday morning I had to be rushed to the hospital because I was throwing eveything I ate or drank, I was extremely weak it took them 5 bags of IV and 2 Bags of antibiotics to make me feel a lil better but my blood sugar was high the entire time I was in the hospital and they never gave me insulin when I got home today at 7:30am after been discharge my blood sugar was in 330 i was really upset because in the hospital they should of gave me at least a doce to control it after all the throw up that I did and ever since my blood sugar today has been high ! Not in the 300 but in the 200 I'm really upset because tomorrow I have an app with my diabetes educator and I know she is gonna come to my neck because of how high they have been since I was started to get sick and idk how to explain to her that in they didn't treat me right in the hospital . My bf and I were asking the entire time for insulin since I know my blood sugar was high and they also knew it the didn't do nothing . Baby is moving like normally and I feel her but it concern me and bothers me because people that are suppose to help do the apposite of it .

Does your baby doctor know all about this? I feel they would be concerned about the high sugar. I'm a diabetic, and my doctor told me before the baby will be fine if your sugar is high, because baby has their own pancreas to give them insulin to bring there's down. The thing is insulin in an unborn baby acts as a steroid and makes them grow. Hence why diabetics have big babies. You definitely need to get some help. If your doctor won't do anything I would switch to a different hospital.

I would definitely change hospitals if you are not happy with the care they gave you.
When I was around 23w I developed an infection in my jaw and went to my local ER 2x and they refused to treat me. They acted like I was a drug addict. My mom ended up taking me to another hospital 1 1/2 hours away where I was admitted immediately.
I was in so much pain that I wasn't completely coherent. If it wasn't for my Mom(RN), my Aunt(CNA) and my sister advocating for me I would have been in trouble. They were the ones talking to my Drs about treatments and medications thru that whole 3 weeks of hell.

I have the app today , I been diabetic for a while so I deff know that when I'm sick my blood sugar will go up , all my doctors know about this and they gave me an app for today to see my diabetes educator . My doctors are perfect what I didn't like was the care they were giving me . My blood sugar was so good until I got sick so now my units might have to change just so it can control it self again

I'm a diabetic as well. Just had baby #2 Sept 1st. Do you not have the ability to give yourself more insulin to bring your sugar down? I'm confused as to why you didn't do that yourself. If you've been a diabetic for awhile that should have been the first thing to do. Having a high blood sugar like that will lead to a bigger baby, increase in amniotic fluid which is very bad for baby, and increased risk of still birth. How do you control your sugars?

@wall5821 my sugars were fine before I got the virus , once I got it they were all over the place and that's why I came in to the hospital. Since I was throwing up eveything I ate or drank I didn't gave my self insulin but they knew about it so they should have done soemething . Also a hospital should never discharge you when your blood sugars are unstable after a virus and more if you are pregnant . I asked several times for them to give me insulin and they brush it off . I never did it my self because I thought they were going to do it but it didn't happen . I was admitted yesterday to the hospital after my diabetes educator saw my log book . She was pissed off and she even call the manager of the floor and also talked to the Resident that was in charge of me the day I was here . The resident got suspended and I will be staying here until blood sugars are control . The hospital admitted that they did something wrong and I was not giving the care I needed . Also I been coming to this hospital for a very long time and in the charts of the day I came in the resident had me as type 2 after I gave her the name of the medication and eveything.

Since last night my blood sugar have been perfect but they still want to keep me here to see if they stay like that
